Design & Estimation Manager

Purpose of the role
Lead and develop Keller Grundläggnings technical capacity to ensure that the company complies competitive and innovative design proposals at conceptual tender and contract award stages across the range of solutions offered by the company.


Key Responsibilities
- Managing the design checking and risk management processes for Sweden and Norway.
- Ensure that the external design resources are properly managed and controlled.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and research and maintain highest technical standards for our products and solutions.
- Be a key contact for winning workForge relations with customers and consulting engineers and other influencers.
- Leading a group of 3 designers and 2 estimation engineers.
- Maintain links with selected universities and clients.
- Promote and technically overseas joint selling across all Keller UK divisions.
- Encourage professional development within the engineering and estimation team and coach the team to produce optimum solutions.
- Undertake continuos professional development.
- Maintain a risk based approach to tendering and contracting and periodically review software for effectiveness and commonality across Keller Grundläggning.
- Reporting straight to MD in Keller Grundläggning.


Experience, skills and qualifications needed
-Three to five years minimum experience in geotechnical design and estimation improvement, pilling, retaining wall design and slope stability analysis.
- Experience of leadership in leading 2-4 persons minimum.
- An instinctively analytical and problem solving approach.
- Good knowledge of current codes of practice relating to geotechnical and pile disign.
- A strong desire to develop sound technical knowledge of a range of geotechnical products and solutions.
- Expert in estimation and offering geotechnical works.
- A chartered Member of the ICE is desirable.
- Keller welcomes interest from candidates who will add to the Group’s diversity.
- Good Swedish as well as English is a must, both written and verbal.

Education
Civil engineering education prferably with a M Sc in geology or similar.
